Jazz Interlude #7

Dudley Moore: pint sized; club footed; foil to Peter Cook’s pubic school style bullying. The funny half of ‘Not only… But Also’. Actor, composer and FABULOUS JAZZ PIANIST.

Dud’s playing has the lighthearted romantic bounce of Vince Guaraldi, Erroll Garner and to a lesser extent the early work of Roy Budd (who interestingly enough also went on to work with the Trio’s drummer Chris Karan).

This track is called Amalgam and is from the album ‘The Dudley Moore Trio’ the first LP that featured all Moore compositions.

If you listen to it now I guarantee it’ll put a big soppy smile on your face.
